Lake Junaluska Assembly

For 49 consecutive sessions, Lake Junaluska Assembly, owned by the Southeastern Jurisdiction, has been the site of the annual sessions of the Western North Carolina Conference. In 1957, the Western North Carolina Conference of The Methodist Church began holding its annual sessions at Lake Junaluska Assembly. From then, and through the 1968 merger which created the Western North Carolina Conference of The United Methodist Church, Junaluska has continued to be a very special place of gathering.
